Exhibition COMMON GROUND – Sea Of Tranquility on display at Larry Gallery, Kortrijk Belgium

This exhibition is curated by Nicolaes Devriendt, Larry Gallery, and showcases 27 international artist including myself. 

27 artist will be presented on two locations in Courtrai, Belgium, over a six week period. It opens at January 29th to March 15th at these two locations: Koning Leopold I straat 26 & Groeningestraat 36.

I wil exhibit two of my latest works there; Sea Of Tranquility and Space Invaders.

“Common Ground reflects the gallery’s ongoing commitment to emerging talent. It reinforces an understanding of contemporary art that values depth, risk, and independence over instant legibility.” 

This quote is attributed to:  Kisito Assangni (Togolese-French curator, art consultant) who wrote an item about this upcoming exhibition in Artdependence  Magazine.

Wankel Evenwicht is een groepsexpositie  in het Hoogkoor van het Academiehuis, Zwolle. De expositie is van 25.04.25 tot 08.06.25.  Deelnemers:  Everdien Post – Marian Dorothe Visscher – Jan Pieter Gootjes – Ludie Gootjes Klamer en Jolan van de Waeter en ikzelf, Marit Otto

Speciaal voor deze expositie heb ik de kunstinstallatie W.I.P. (Work In Progress) gemaakt. Een interactieve installatie van 4 meter breed en 2 meter hoog. Waarover ik later meer zal vertellen.

De expositie Wankel Evenwicht is een bijzondere verkenning van het maatschappelijke thema: “Hoe kunnen we samen leven” in een tijd van verandering. Deze tentoonstelling is het resultaat van een unieke samenwerking tussen zes Zwolse kunstenaars, ontwerpers en de gemeenschap, waarin kunst en erfgoed samenkomen om de complexe vraagstukken van onze samenleving aandacht te geven en in beweging te krijgen.

For a couple of years I have had a special cooperation with Jorrit Tol (Nel). Stop by to see my work but certainly also to check out his special sustainable design furniture.

Red – Black and Yellow are on display during PROTO, Zwolle in the auditorium of the Stadkamer. PROTO runs from June 26-30, 2024 but the works will stay longer.

Red – Black en Yellow hangen tijdens PROTO, Zwolle in de grote zaal van de Stadkamer. Proto is van vanaf 26 t/m 30 juni 2024 maar het werk blijft langer hangen.

Mijn bijdrage zijn twee speciale edities in kleine oplage van 1/3. Deze twee kunstdrukken: Scream en Around The World In One Day




			










Deze twee prints zijn digitaal gemanipuleerde portretten van Michael Jackson en Prince, en oorspronkelijk uit mijn serie Heroes die ik eerder maakte ter ere van mijn persoonlijke muziekhelden.





Speciaal voor deze gelegenheid heb ik een iets andere look gecreëerd en op een ander formaat afgedrukt.

Maar liefst 43 kunstenaars werken dit jaar mee aan deze bekende en terugkerende expositie Prints & Multiples. De expositie waar zowel ervaren als beginnende kunstliefhebbers hun weg vinden.





Kunst met Korting





Elke deelnemende kunstenaar exposeert met twee werken, waarvan één werk wordt aangeboden voor de ‘Kunst met Korting-prijs’ van € 155,-  en een ander werk voor de normale prijs. Of je nu een verzamelaar bent of een mooi, betaalbaar kunstwerk zoekt dat je raakt, het is beslist de moeite waard om eens rond te kijken.

De nieuwe expositie Floreren van MicksArt Collectief is gisteren geopend. Hier ook recent werk van mij te bewonderen. Mocht je in de buurt zijn of niet in de buurt maar gewoon nieuwsgierig naar deze bijzondere plek in Emmen en naar mijn werk en het werk van de vele andere kunstenaars, gewoon gaan kijken is mijn advies.

Exhibition Florish 





MicksArt Collective’s new exhibition Flourishing opened yesterday. Here also recent work of mine can be admired. Vanaf donderdag 14 december is de expositie Sustainable  (Duurzaamheid in de kunst) te zien in Galerie de Ploeg, Amersfoort. De expositie is tot 07 januari te bezoeken.





R.O.T. Yellow, Black and Red 2023.  Remains Of Today selections - 27 x
R.O.T. Yellow, Black and Red 2023





R.O.T.  Yellow, Black and Red zijn voortgevloeid uit mijn project + installatie van Remains Of Today.  Dit project/ deze installatie is afgelopen maand (november 2023) afgerond. Het behelst in totaal 300 kleine (30 x 30cm) circulaire kunstwerken van gevonden en hergebruikte materialen en teksten.  Remains Of Today heeft op diverse plekken geëxposeerd als een grote – groeiende – installatie.  Toen ik de laatste hand er aan legde voelde ik de behoefte om er toch een hele nieuwe benadering op los te laten., een soort van Best Of. Deze best of resulteert in verschillende  9 luiken waarbij gezocht is naar overlap in kleur en de best mogelijke collage van de eerder gemaakte collage composities.  De eerste 3 Yellow, Black and Red, worden geëxposeerd tijdens Sustainable 02, in galerie de Ploegh.





De overige deelnemende kunstenaars zijn: Hannah Blom,  Boudewijn Korsmit, Adriana Nigting, Sari Piek, Mark van Praagh, Catherine Schoenmaker, Cecile Spronsen, Harry Tomese, Jose van Waarde, Carla Zeegers en Marjan Jaspers.





Duurzame kunst heeft geen vaste regels, maar is eerder een evoluerende en
aanpasbare manier van denken over de betekenis van kunst maken. Het maakt gebruik van gerecyclede en hergebruikte materialen, bijeengeraapte of herwonnen materialen, duurzame materialen en processen, en het werken vanuit een missie van duurzaamheid.
