YES! This morning, the green-to-gray art project for this season (Spring 2026 – Discover Your Own Voice) received final approval from the City of Zwolle in the form of a grant. Culture Grant Program / Support for Amateur Arts (Amateur Arts Fund)!!
The project has been ongoing for seven weeks now, so we’re thrilled that we can finally roll out our program properly. In practical terms, this means we can start planning our field trip(s) and get our final presentation well organized. The excursion will take us to Next Museum Amsterdam! And that means a whole day spent together in art. 10 young people and 10 seniors, traveling on the Green and Gray Bus (yes, that really exists).
This is likely our last subsidy from the city of Zwolle. We’ve been working on this for three years now and have been supported throughout this period by the FAK in Zwolle. Over these three years, we’ve had the opportunity to further develop and shape the project. We’ve developed a three-year program consisting of six seasons. Each season has its own specific learning objective. Without the contribution of the City of Zwolle, as well as the support from the Lassus Campus, Rijke School, and the provision of space, coffee, and tea, and the contribution from the Sluyterman van Loo Fund / Lang Leve Kunst / Verbinding, we could never have developed this in such a way.
It’s also worth remembering where this adventure all began: at Briljant Zwolle. Thank you, Stadkamer: Freek van der Heide and Jolan Van de Waeter, for involving us and inspiring us to do this.
After this season, we’ll be applying for grants from national funds. And we hope that Van Groen Tot Grijs becomes a permanent fixture in the municipality of Zwolle—and who knows… maybe beyond.
P.S.: We’re still waiting to hear back on a grant application from Stichting de Gasthuizen.
So thank you all, and especially on behalf of all our ageless students!
Marit and Gina
